Annual safari suit photo shoot

Posted by Jen on 29 Jan 2007 | Tagged as: Safari suit pub crawl, 2006, Train station

In the time honoured tradition, a group photo is taken of the whole safari suit pub crawl group. This year it was at the train station as it has been in the past. It was a surprise to the security guards who were a bit beside themselves but we are a pretty well-behaved crowd and once we’d taken the photos we left and people were once more able to descend the stairs easily to catch their trains.

Here’s a selection of the group arriving at the train station, getting ready on the stairs and standing on the stairs for the photo shoot. See if you can spot yourself.

Carpet as an accessory

The Adelaide Festival Centre was built in the 1970s and hasn’t had a major interior overhaul since then, not in the Tutto Ku bar anyway. Therefore it was the perfect spot to use the staircase as a photo shoot location because the carpet is so 70s - ie perfectly suited to safari night. Jacinta (along with Kate and Kazz) took advantage of this and her dress matched the carpet perfectly.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it’s the first time in safari history that carpet has been used as an accessory.

Safari on to the Festival Centre Bistro

After the safari pub crawl finished the Popeye sunset cruise we ambled over to the Festival Centre Bistro (Tutto Ku) to continue the evening.

It’s a safari tradition that there’s a chook raffle and two lucky winners (Michelle and Wobbly) won a chook, and a chicken fillet each, that they could carry around all evening because it’s every person’s ambition to carry around a raw chook on a night out.
